A moment of grace? A space and time when you experience yourself as divine, gorgeous, fully engaged in living. You allow whatever concerns you to simply melt away, out of your awareness. No longer do worries and sorrow, frustration and disappointment have power over you. In this moment - of grace - you are free of the bonds that have kept you in a cycle of pain. What is a moment of grace? It's the space between the thoughts, between the hesitations. You re-member you, your highest, most exquisite experience of life. And in this moment -which can last forever-...
Well, maybe not movies so much as video clips. I just ordered my new video camcorder. Lucky me, I have a man in my life who supports me in particular ways... like doing gadget research. Since I'm still learning the fine art of delegating or at least asking for help in the areas that are not my unique brand of brilliance, I'm thrilled to give him the idea and let him run with it. The new camera will arrive in a few days. You'll know because all of sudden you'll start to see videos I'm posting. I plan to share...
Could I be more joyous!? Could you? I hope your answer, like mine, is, “Yes! I could have more Joy in my life!” You see, I know that there is no “cap” on joy, except as we put there for ourselves. Raising that “cap” or set-point is possible. When you do it, each time you do it, it is profound and powerful. I hope I never find my limit! For years I've been toying with this idea of self-imposed limits - both high and low limits. It started as a pre-teen when I learned about body weight set points. The...
I have a personal decision to share with you. And a confession to make. You've been part of my journey by inviting me to be a part of yours, and for that I am honored and deeply grateful. (Can you see the warm smile on my face, my hand at my heart?) I want you to be among the first to know what I've decided. I also need some help to do it, so I'll be making a request of you as well. Everyday this grows stronger... I'm being called to step into the fullness of my Soul's Purpose. While...
When the idea came through to write this book, I began as many proactive people do with a new project: Passionate, curious, excited. I told people I met, “I’m writing a book!” I called friends, my parents to tell them personally. Now, looking back I wonder why they responded the way they did. They said, “Tambra, that’s great.” Or “I’ve always thought you should write. It’s one of your talents. You have such a gift for expressing yourself and ideas that make me want to read more.” And “I always learn so much from you. I’m so happy you’re doing...
Today there are several new things occurring here in my corner of the world. They may appear to some to be completely out of the blue, or magically formed. Today I am delighted to share with you for the first time two *new* happenings, but neither of are new. First, These two new developments are part of a long-held vision I've had, and somehow without specific plan, after over 25-plus years since the original dreaming, two events came about on the same day. Both are: Expressions of my Soul's Divine Purpose. For now the best way I know to describe...
Can you feel it? There are so many people contracting out of fear and worry. Tightening their wallets, and their muscles. Closing their minds so that only what's already in there can inform. As if we've taken one massive, collective inhale. Then stopped right there in the middle of living. Now, not everyone who is contracted in the whirl of worry, doubt, fear and shame. No, some who think they are more enlightened, want to be "positive," are contracted in a different way. It can be tricky to even notice it, the contraction that happens for the mind-set, law-of-attraction, live-the-good-life...
Sometimes an opportunity comes around that is just too important to let pass by, and recently, I was presented with just such an opportunity. My soul-business / sister-friend and “helping-preneur” marketing expert Suzanne Evans asked me if I would share with you a fr^ee call series that she is hosting beginning October 1st. Suzanne is not only a brilliant marketer and an easy-to-follow teacher, but also one of the most passionate and real voices teaching marketing today to those of us who value “being of service” as highly as “being profitable”. Let’s face it: no matter what you “do”, marketing...
Music is one of the expressions of the Soul. As I listen to this live recording of Sarah McLachlan and Josh Groban, I'm inspired to share it for all the soulful expressions in the song. I invite you to notice what responses you have as you watch and listen. For me, the lyrics of "In the Arms of the Angel" speak so clearly of the human condition. My heart opens at the lilting quality of Sarah's voice. As Josh walks in and begins to sing, voice brings a groundedness and depth to the duet. I sense the audience is rapt...
Have you ever met someone who inspires you to feel more alive and more passionate about your own life just for having met them? In the past few weeks I have been blessed to meet many remarkable people. Two of them continue to recur in my thoughts. They were energetic, fun, interesting, passionate people. I think I have new roll models, and I'd love to share them with you. Mae & Teddy don't shy away from living their passions. They demonstrate what it's like to step out beyond the expectations of yourself or others. They show us that aging is...

It's easy... just 3 steps: 1 - feel your desire 2 - put it to words 3 - post in comments section below That's it... Unless you want more. This weekend I was at a great summer party. There were at least 120 people there, great food and live music. Some guests enjoyed the pool, others danced. Me? I did a little of all that, but mostly I enjoyed meeting new people. Passion for Creative Expression One woman I met was really interested in what I do, and she shared with me some of her joys and accomplishments in life. She and her husband passed their business along to a son who was doing well. They recently bought a new home. She's healthy and fit. It was fun to...
Today I'm back in my home office. Ah, it does feel great to be home again. I'm filled with inspiration! After frolicking in the ocean, waking before sunrise, exploring the Big Island of Hawaii for over two weeks, I'm passionate about being home. Since returning home I've received intuitive, inner-guidance to reach much farther, to increase the size of goals and to spread a message of Gratitude, Joy & Grace across this planet. So starting with this post, I'm declaring- with courage and conviction - that playing small or hiding out is no longer an option. Now if you've known...
Everywhere I turn I notice people are talking about money. I find myself wondering, has it always been this way? I think so. Sure things are changing and there's a lot more concern in the way people are feeling and talking about money now than even just a few years ago. The main things I'm hearing: fear, doubt, worry, regret, disappointment, resentment, shame, guilt... they are all wrapped up in comments and conversations about money. You know it's not really about the money, right? Those thoughts and feelings that "bring you down," or keep you up at night, those are...
I received a message from a woman the other day. She's a FaceBook friend whom I've never met. (That's one of the interesting things about FaceBook.) She'd seen a message I posted about music I was listening to, in response she shared something with me that I'd never heard before. Apparently our DNA is musical. If you translated the strands of your DNA into a musical composition, it would be unique to you. Music that is you and only you. That's how I think of this Secret Truth: The Only You You Can Truly Be is Your Authentic Self. Everything...
I'm a life-long networker. You probably know that about me. So you'll also know that I don't just send out anyone's promotions. I feel that passionate and inspired about this opportunity. You see, I believe that David Neagle is a gift to the business world. I believe his spirit-inspired, success- oriented, no-fluff approach he brings to coaching business clients is unlike what you'll find with anyone else. Actually, to tell you the whole truth, I feel so strongly about David's unique approach to business and coaching, a few months ago I applied to work with him directly. Oh-my, I was...

Is your bedroom a place for respite and renewal? Does it provide you a good night's sleep? How about your intimate relationship... does your bedroom entice you to enjoy a loving, expressive sex life? Do the textures, colors and lighting invite you to experience sensuous, physical pleasures? I can't help but love a beautiful, inviting bedroom! When I wrote of bedrooms earlier this year, I shared seven ways to create an environment that promotes rest, wellbeing and intimacy. (you can read about that at this link) Today I'm excited to share with you some of the bedding I've personally selected...
I simply love the magic of synchronicity! It's Life's way of saying "Yes!" right back to you. My online dictionary defines synchronicity as: the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related but have no discernable causal connection. It's a term coined by one of my life teachers, Carl G. Jung. (Not my teacher in person, but in spirit and, perhaps in the collective unconscious.) It seems that Jung saw synchronicity as acausal, meaning that there was no evidence of cause and effect. I don't see it that way. Cause and effect is a law of the universe. Synchronicity is...
Music For Yoga And Other Joys by Jai Uttal & Ben Leinbach I use this music for my yoga practice at home, and sometimes just for movement/dancing. The eastern sounds aren't appealing to everyone. I suggest choosing music that feels and sounds good to you. Try different types of music, even if you're unfamiliar. I've recently discovered downloadable music from amazon.com. Sometimes I'll find selections here that aren't available at iTunes. Here are links to this CD at each online service: Amazon iTunes

Watch beauty unfold before your eyes when you curl up for private time with your own blossoming tea and your journal. Or share with a loved one. Beauty is meant to be experienced and shared! Drop a Flowering Tea rosette into a clear glass tea pot, pour in boiling water, and the rosette slowly opens into a fabulous blossom. Steep 2-3 minutes and enjoy. Each rosette is hand-sewn using premium tea leaves and fine cotton thread; each may be used up to 4 times. This makes such a fine gift, I gave one to myself! (I'm still trying to figure...
Last month I gave myself an amazing gift. I had a private session with Teresa Owen, yoga teacher & yoga therapist. We met years ago - we practiced at the same yoga studio. When I put Teresa's info in my address book back then I wrote: yoga pal & kindred spirit. Turns out yoga was her passion. She followed it and is now a gifted teacher and healer through yoga. So when I noticed that I was being lazy and habitual in my personal yoga practice, I knew I wanted (needed?) help. I had no idea what a treat I...
I began this year with some mighty bold goals. The kind of goals that when you set them and begin to move toward them, they change and challenge and grow you. Oh yeah. I also made commitments to myself and loved ones, not goals really, more choices. Choices to get the help I need with things I don't know how to do, or can't do on my own. Choices to plan time with friends - real time, not just quick chats on the phone while driving. I also made decisions about investing in myself - in my overall well-being. Sure,...
If you've been reading The Art of WellBeing for a while now, you've probably noticed some changes. I've been working with my team to create a resourceful and inspiring newsletter and blog. Have I said thank you for all the raves & kudos? I love sharing stories, ideas and tips for living soulfully! I also love that you're loving it! Many of you, my fellow entrepreneurs, have been asking how I'm learning to do online marketing. I get emails and calls after every issue! So I thought I'd share my *secret*. Last year I discovered a vivacious and inspiring woman,...
When you're looking for People, Places, Ideas, Solutions, Or Wondering How to, Where to, with Whom You Will Find the What You're Looking for... If there's something you want to be, have or do, I'm thrilled to introduce to you a new feature of The Art of WellBeing: Tambra Recommends Everyday I find myself recommending places to: nosh, shop, sip, meet, learn. As The Soulful Design consultant, I recommend contractors, furniture stores, consignment shops, painters, artists, frame shops. Then there are books I've loved and learned from. And music to meditate or dance with. Plus sacred objects, art, decorative and...
5. Explore the subtle nuances. The "energy of a space" is mostly experienced through subtlty. If you've heard much about Feng Shui, you know that there are significant differences in the ways we experience colors, placement, shapes, flow. Subtle nuances create big impact. I began a new yoga practice the day before our garden adventure. Maybe that's why I noticed the nuances of how I was moving. Where my strength was coming from. Why I had discomfort when I moved a certain way. It's much the same approach I take when creating soulful designs. Questions about the subtle, often missed,...
Pulling weeds may not seem like an enjoyable Saturday morning activity. I put it off for a while. Sitting here at my desk, I look into the back yard, and beyond at the hills across the Carquinez Strait. I could see the weeds growing. They seemed to love the intermittent rains and sunny days. It was becoming difficult to appreciate my view, as the weeds began to capture my attention, distracting me. Then Saturday morning, after yoga and a light breakfast, I joined Michael in the yard, determined to reclaim my peace of mind, and get those weeds out of...
Sure, we usually get new wall calendars for the new year. You may think, it's March - I don't need a calendar now. But this is not your usual wall calendar. It's more amazing to see than describe. Imagine four pages, each representing a full season - from solstice to equinox or vice versa. Three-foot wide colorful panels reflect spatial relationships between Earth, sea, sky while emphasizing the procession of life from season to season. The ECOlogical Calendar makes a beautiful wall display, but its accordion-fold panels can just as easily be used at a desk. I bought several of...
You might guess that as the Soulful Design Consultant I visit many homes. I get to see how people live. They share their dreams and I hear how they think about their environments. And I get the amazing honor of creating spaces that reflect the soul and desires of each client. There's more to what I hear than dreams and desires though. Every client has their own concerns as well. I hear how people judge their spaces. I hear what confuses them, how they worry or toil over their choices - and the lifestyle their home supports. Their concerns are...
It's mid-winter now. I miss the bounty of fresh produce from the other seasons, especially when I visit a local farmers' market. The choices are different this time of year, not as sweet as spring blossoms nor as showy as late summer harvests. I started wondering what would even tempt me to an outdoor market this time of year. Ah, but then I read some recipes from Chef Dan Leff. He frequents the local markets, preparing for clients and their parties. Last week he shared a few tips for preparing fresh greens. They're more flavorful and bitter than you might...
Here's something I've come to know: Joy can only be Now. There's no experience of joy in the past. It no longer exists. You may have a memory of joy, but that's not the same thing as experiencing it, feeling it now. If you're anything like me, you remember times when you were joyous - some extraordinary highlights. Those memories may be wonderful. The trouble is that remembering joy is not the real thing. It's not the experience of it today, now, this moment. Another way the past interferes with present joy: constantly rehashing setbacks and delays, or always worrying...
Your bedroom. Does it give you a sense of comfort? Do you sleep well, awaken rested and restored? Does it promote health, sensuality, intimacy? There is no room that is more soulful than the others. Yet the bedroom invites us to be intimate with our innermost selves. It's the room where we sleep. The room where we dream. It's where you make love, dress, groom yourself. You may have quiet conversations, your head on a pillow. This may be where you pray or meditate. Or maybe you stare at the ceiling in the middle of the night, waiting for morning...
A while back I was conducting market research, working with an independent book publisher on behalf of two first-time authors. I was asked to help identify the likely audience for the book. I came across an article that outlined this fascinating, and somehow familiar information about an evolving segment of our population. This new "market" was identified as: Cultural Creatives. Cultural Creatives care deeply about: ecology and saving the planet, relationships, peace and social justice, self-actualization, spirituality, and self-expression. I felt a kinship with the people being described in the article. In the midst of the book promotion, the article...
Yes, this week is Thanksgiving. But that's not what motivates me to write about Gratitude. If you listen to the news media, or read it, or talk about what's being reported, it's easy to lose focus on how amazingly abundant and joyous life really is. Last week I asked a group of 30+ business people how they feel when they engage in the "bad economy" talk that's going on all around us. The overall response: Awful. We feel awful when we are inundated with fear and doubt and greed and all such things. Awful: I define it as a feeling...
Serving our communities. Offering what we have for the benefit others' wellbeing. To me, that's part of our global, local and person commitment to living well. I'm now accepting suggestions for my next Charitable Make-Over Project. I'm asking for your help. Please send your suggestions for where/who might benefit from a Make-Over/Redesign. Just fill out the contact form with your idea, or send an email directly. Please include in the comments: Charitable Project/ReDesign Candidates Each year I choose an organization or facility that provides services to people in our community. It's not hard to find a place in disrepair or...
Ah, Summertime! This is the season that seems filled with activity, growth and consciousness. (With all that light!) This is also an important time to remember how to relax too. Rest a bit. We enjoyed a restful weekend, visiting my parents at their new home in the high dessert of Northern California. They are ambitiously creating their retirement home on an acre of land. Our time together was restful and enriching! In this issue of The Art of WellBeing you'll find a few tips for ways to relax and rest in this issue: Simple Ideas for Gardening, an interview with...
Do you ever have a feeling that wells up from somewhere deep inside, giving your whole body a tingly, warm, effervescent shiver? That's the sensation I have when I am vitally aware of my gratitude. Like you, I can point to and list what I'm grateful for - and that’s fun and uplifting! But the measure of gratitude I'm talking about goes beyond the stuff of life, or experiences of time. I used to write things down, you know, in a "gratitude journal:" I'm thankful for______ (fill in the blank) and the lists could be long. Yet somewhere in the...
