Why do you think so many people deny what they Love?

What do you tell yourself is the reason you cannot or will not commit to Love... to being, doing, expressing, feeling, having that which you love?

Sometimes people tell me, "Oh, but I don't know what I love." I don't believe that. You know, they know. There may be more to discover, but you know what you Love! Your heart and soul know.

Do you think like others that you are too tender to feel the power of your love? That it's overwhelming and frightening?

Or maybe you're concerned that if you dedicate yourself to living your love that you might not be accepted, honored, appreciated, or some other form of rejection? you might not fit in.

So what if that happens!?

Your expressions of Love are yours to express!

Whatever, and I mean What Ever, you think is the barrier between you and the life you yearn to live and love is only there because you haven't committed to Love.

I know what it's like to deny your love, and the pain that comes with it. I love to sing. I have always loved to sing. My parents met in high school choir... maybe I was born of it! My whole family loves to sing. I'm no Barbra Streisand or Christina Aguilera, and I'm personally quite happy that there were not reality TV shows broadcasting singers all around the globe in competitions when I was growing up, singing. I would have wanted it, and I would have been too afraid to be judged in that way.

My fear and judgment would have won.

How do I know? Because they did. When I was 17 I sang in a musical production of Oliver in a local community theater group. It was a blast. Big cast. The show ran through the holiday season. There were cast Christmas parties, spontaneous caroling and celebrations for months. I got the part in the play by referral. I did not audition. The woman who had the role -- which included a solo in the big song, "Who Will Buy?" -- for some reason dropped out. Rather than ask another performer already on the cast to step up, they wanted to add another woman to the cast. Through a series of events, I got a call from the costume designer, saying the director would like to meet me and hear me sing.

Next thing I know, I'm in the play, and singing nearly every night! I didn't have a fear of performing, or being able to sing well. My fear were that I would fail my love. My love of singing. So even after a fabulously fun and successful run in the play, I quit. That's how I failed my love: I quit it altogether.

I quit for most of 18 years.

Perhaps it's no surprise that today I'm on a mission to stop the senseless refusal of Love.

When you deny what you truly love, you deny the flow of your love. You shut down your most unique access to creativity, to genuine expression, to receiving the reflections of your love. I use the word "love"... you may think of Passion or Gift or Talent or Purpose or Yearning or Calling. When you deny it, you deny all the Good that flows through you to bring your magic to life.

Will it be challenging to honor your loves? Probably.
Will it be worth the challenge? Absolutely, yes!
